    About Maryville University of Saint Louis
    Regarded as one of the safest campuses in the country, campers will stay in modern, air conditioned residence halls, sleeping two to a room. The soccer training will be conducted on beautiful grass fields. Other facilities at the university are available to campers during recreational periods.

    Maryville University is located two miles west of I-270, just off U.S. Highway 40 (Interstate 64). A more detailed map will be furnished upon receipt of your application.

    FEES

    Resident Fees – $405.00
    Includes room, board, use of university facilities, camp gifts and awards
    Commuter Fees – $325.00
    Includes lunch, dinner, use of a room, use of university facilities, camp gifts and awards

    PAYMENT

    A full payment of $405 for residents and $325 for commuters must be presented with the online registration.

    REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

    If your child cannot attend his/her week of camp, please notify Todd Wallace, summer camp coordinator, at 314-529-9974 or soccercamp@maryville.edu no later than May 23, 2008.  Any cancellations made on or before May 23, 2008, will be eligible for a full refund, minus a $100 processing fee. Refunds will only be given for medical reasons and must be accompanied by a doctor's authorization.

    SUPERVISION

    Campers will be supervised throughout the day and overnight by our camp staff.  There is a ratio of one coach to every 10-12 campers.

    TRANSPORTATION

    Parents must assume responsibility for transportation to and from camp. Children will not be allowed to leave campus with anyone other than their respective parent or legal guardian without a signed note from their parent/legal guardian.

    CHECK- IN

    Check-in is from 2:30 pm to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, with dinner and instruction given until 8:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday, commuters report at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 8:30 p.m. Commuters have the same soccer schedule as the residents, including scrimmage games in the evening. Friday's schedule is 8:30 until 11:00 a.m.

    CAMP DIRECTOR

    Eric Delabar

    Coach Delabar returns in 2008 as Maryville's soccer camp director for the 13th summer. Coach Delabar will once again be the camp's master teacher. In addition, Eric will train the goalkeepers during each camp session. He was an All-American goalkeeper for three Quincy University national championship teams. Eric also played professionally with the New York Cosmos and the St. Louis Steamers. He currently coaches the women's team at Maryville University. In 1999 and 2005, Eric was voted SLIAC conference Coach of the Year and in 2002 was elected into the NAIA Hall of Fame. He also coaches the girls' team at Fort Zumwalt North High School.

    Camp Coordinator

    Todd Wallace

    Todd is entering his 4th summer working as camp coordinator.  He is responsible for the administrative duties of camp, including: communication with parents, roommate and team assignments, as well as the advertising and marketing of the camp.  In addition, Todd serves as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Maryville Univerisity.  He played collegiately for Loyola University Chicago, serving as team captain his senior year, and owns a United States Soccer Federation National B Coaching License. 

      

    STAFF COACHES

    Al Trost

    Arguably the best ever American born player, Al is another coach with years of experience. He’s a two-time Hermann Award winner recognized as the NCAA Player of the Year. While at St. Louis University, he played on two National Championship teams. He’s a former Olympic team player and World Cup team captain, and in 2006 was inducted into the United States Soccer Hall of Fame. Al is also a former head coach of the St. Louis Steamers. He currently coaches the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Parkway South High School.

       

    Jeff Cacciatore

    A 20-year camp veteran, Jeff will continue to lend his expertise to the Maryville University Saints Soccer Camp. He played for seven seasons with the original St. Louis Steamers after a successful career at SIU-Edwardsville, winning a National Championship. He currently coaches at Whitfield School, which has won five of the last six Missouri Class 1 Boys' State Championships.

       

    Dan O’Keefe

    Dan has logged an impressive 26+ years with the camp, dating back to when it was directed by Pat McBride. He is a veteran of several NPSL teams including the 1992 Champion Detroit Rockers and the 1993 St. Louis Ambush. Dan retired as the league’s all-time leading goal scorer.

      When and where is camp check-in and check-out? top menu
    A: Check-in will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday for both residents and commuters. We will check campers in at the lobby of Duchesne Hall, located directly across from the soccer field. Campers will check-out at 11:00, following the awards ceremony, which will begin at approximately 10:30. Once on campus, please follow signs.
         
      My child will not be able to register at the normal check-in time on Sunday. Can I check him/her in later than 4:30 p.m.? top menu
    A: We strongly encourage all campers to check in at the normal registration time between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. If you cannot make that time frame, however, there will be counselors available to assist you until 9:00 p.m. in the Duchesne Lobby. If you need special arrangements, please contact summer camp coordinator Todd Wallace at 314.529.9974 or soccercamp@maryville.edu.
         
      Will my son or daughter get the roommate he/she requested? top menu
    A: We do our best to accommodate all roommate requests, but are not always able to fulfill them. We ask that you keep in mind your son/daughter may not get the requested roommate, and list an alternate. No roommate changes will be made on the day of registration.
         
      Are the campers playing soccer all day? top menu
    A: The campers will have training sessions in the morning, afternoon, and evening that generally last two hours. There is structured downtime, where the campers will be able to play soccer golf, hang out in the campus game room, or just relax. These times are subject to change as we work around the weather.
         
      What is the coach/camper ratio? top menu
    A: One coach will be available for every 10-12 campers. This includes overnight supervision, and recreational time.
         
      Can parents come out and watch the campers play? top menu
    A: Parents are encouraged to come and watch the evening team matches, which begin at 6:15 p.m.
         
      What kind of food will the campers eat? top menu
    A: The cafeteria at Maryville University has a wide variety of meals that should accommodate the pickiest eater. Breakfast includes cereal and pastries, as well as hot entrees, including eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, and waffles. Hot lunch and dinner entrees range from casseroles, pizza, grilled cheese and hamburgers, to deli sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly. A soup and salad bar is also available, as well as ice cream and cookies for dessert.  
         
      Will my child need to bring a water bottle? top menu
    A: Water will be provided for every camper during each practice session. A water bottle will also be given to each child this year.
         
      Is a team discount available? top menu
    A: Yes, the team discount applies to any team that has five or more campers attending the same week of camp. A discount of $15 for each camper will be applied when all the applications are sent in together.
         
      Is there a discount if my child attends more than one camp session? top menu
    A: Yes, if your child attends MORE THAN ONE camp session, he/she will receive a $50 discount for each additional week.
         
      My child is seven and the brochure the age limit starts at eight. top menu
    A: Many children play “up” a level to match their personal skill. Children under the age of eight will be accepted on a case by case basis. Please contact Todd Wallace, summer camp coordinator, at

      What should my child bring to camp? top menu
    A: Upon acceptance into camp, we will send you a checklist of what your child will need for his/her week. These items include: toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrush), towel, pillow, pillow case, twin bed sheets, blanket, soccer shoes (indoor and outdoor), shin guards, T-shirts, socks, shorts, sunscreen, bug spray, and spending money for the camp store and campus café.
